Vaccine United is an online hub for all COVID-19 and vaccination related information being developed in New Jersey and nationally. We are dedicated to collecting, organizing, and sharing evidence-based and culturally competent communication resources and information regarding COVID-19 and its latest developments, while providing a space for our community to share their own unique stories and experiences.
Through our platform, we aim to inform our citizens, raise awareness in our communities, and uplift the voices and stories of our neighbors. We believe that together, we can build a safer future.
Vaccine United was created to provide our community with a comprehensive, up-to-date platform of resources and information regarding COVID-19. The online hub is a project of Hopeloft, a nonprofit in Bridgeton, NJ, that works alongside people and projects who inspire change, advocate for social justice, and commit to meeting the immediate needs of local children and families.
In 2021, United Advocacy Group received funding from New Jersey Health Initiatives, a statewide grantmaking program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to create an online vaccine communications repository with the goal of raising vaccination rates among populations hardest hit by the pandemic and decreasing vaccine hesitancy overall. Today, Vaccine United is powered by a team of student journalists and partners with state and national health organizations to provide the most relevant, accurate, and up-to-date information regarding COVID-19.
Storytelling is a key part of the Vaccine United mission. We strongly believe it is important for people to understand that, although we each have unique stories, none of us is going through this alone, and most of us share similar fears, concerns, and challenges. For all of its warts, social media is the most powerful narrative tool available to us, especially in terms of interactive storytelling. We hope individuals and organizations that share our goal to create a positive dialog around vaccination will use the tools provided here to help continue that conversation.
