“My son was about 18 months old in March of 2020. For more than half of his life his parents have had the spectre of this virus hanging over them. He’s now 3 and he is definitely picking up on little things. He essentially grew up with me at home all the time, which was great, but my going back to an office periodically has been hard on him - and as a result, hard on my wife. He doesn’t understand why he can see some of his family, but others only on the video screen. There are times he seems to understand perfectly and goes about his business, and other times where it's a real challenge."
